Dighton Police Department Seeking Part-Time Dispatchers

Chief Shawn Cronin announces that the Dighton Police Department is currently seeking part-time civilian dispatchers.

Part-time civilian dispatchers will work at the Dighton Police Department as it’s the primary PSAP for 911 calls within the Town of Dighton. Dispatchers will be responsible for answering and processing all incoming calls using the town’s computer-aided dispatch system and will transfer any calls for emergency calls for service to the Dighton Fire, Highway, and Water departments.

“A part-time dispatcher position within the Dighton Police Department is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to get their feet wet in the realm of public safety to do so in a state-of-the-art facility,” Chief Cronin said. “We offer modernized training and approaches to streamline our dispatching services to all emergency departments in town, which in turn allows individuals to become well-versed with the Dighton community. We encourage all those interested to apply!”

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED; have the flexibility to work any shift including nights, weekends or holidays; have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
