School Resource Officer

School Resource Officer (SRO) is a sworn law enforcement officer responsible for safety and crime prevention in schools. Their duties typically include:

Community Liaison: Serving as a bridge between the school and local law enforcement agencies, and working with community resources to address broader issues affecting students.

Safety and Security: Ensuring the safety of students, staff, and school property by maintaining a visible presence and addressing security concerns.

Law Enforcement: Educating about laws, and investigating criminal incidents.

Mentoring and Counseling: Acting as a resource for students, providing guidance, and helping with personal issues. They often build relationships with students to foster trust and
provide support.

Education: Teaching classes or giving presentations on topics like drug prevention, internet safety, bullying, and the role of law enforcement.

Crisis Response: Responding to emergencies, such as fights, threats, or other disturbances, and coordinating with school administration to manage crises.
